GR Kids Perks Program

One of our great local blogs, GRKids.com, just launched a brand new Perks Program for Grand Rapids area families. Once you’ve purchased your card – you get an entire years worth of savings at local businesses – kind of link those Entertainment books that folks buy. Great part about this program is that you have just one small card to keep track of! Plus the businesses are ones that I frequent (or want to frequent) with my kids.

This month Pooh’s Corner has partnered up with the Perks program for May, so you’ll get $5.00 off each $25.00 purchase.

Next month I’m really excited since the brand new Java Gym is offering 50% off admission on Tuesdays and Wednesdays through June- I see a lot of playdates in our future!

Other discounts include:

  • Buy one admission/Get one at the Children’s Museum
  • $2 admission to the GR Art Museum on Saturdays
  • Buy One/Get One on admission to Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park
  • 50% off admission to the Holland Aquatic Center
  • 25% off at Baby Beloved
  • and more….

Along with the monthly discounts, there are year long discounts for shopping and services at your disposal as well.

Now, to be all honest with y’all….we’re affiliates of the Perk’s Program, and some of us have been given Perks cards to use in order to let you know how cool, or uncool it is. Though, with gas prices what they are right now, our budget is getting squeezed tighter and tighter by the day, leaving less for fun activities. So I appreciate a local blog setting up such a great program that allows me to take my kids out at a great discount. And we appreciate the support for the hours we put into blogging!

If you’re a local mama, you can purchase your card for only $25.00. And hopefully we’ll see you out and about this summer!!

West Michigan Link-Up

Are you a local blogger and blog about West Michigan? Each Thursday The Local Cook and I will be hosting an opportunity for you to link up a post about our area in order to bring a bit more awareness to all we have going on around here. Just make sure you check out the ‘small print’ rules below. :-)

Wanna link up? Awesome.

But before you do, let’s cover the ground rules. Unfortunately link ups such as this are getting watered down with stagnant traffic. In order to make sure this doesn’t happen please make sure you:

  1. Link to a post relevant to the West Michigan area. This can include things like reviews, general discussion, tips on buying locally, etc.
  2. Link not to your homepage, but directly to your post.
  3. Make sure to include a link to this post! Collaborating with bloggers is a two-way street, we’re showing links to your site, make sure you link to this post and let your readers know what it’s about. (or simply copy and paste this at the bottom of your post: What to find out more about what’s going on locally? This post is linked to the West Michigan Link-Up at Natural Living Moms, where you can see what everyone else is up to!)
  4. Please publish your post with the above mentioned link to NLM. So going back in every once in a while and adding it isn’t a major cause for concern, but y’all…….then the link to NLM never hits your subscribers.
  5. Not mandatory, but if you’re looking to help increase the traffic for us local bloggers, read the other posts and share then via social media and sites like stumble upon. That’s just good blog kharma that will come back ten fold. :-)

About donielle

Donielle is a natural momma of two, lover of real foods, and owner and editor of Grand Rapids Natural Living and Naturally Knocked Up. You can usually find her in the kitchen whipping up some nourishing foods, cuddled on the couch reading books to the littles, avoiding the laundry and Mt. Saint Dishes, or tapping away on the laptop. Her husband puts up with her sometimes crazy "hippie" ways, but loves her regardless. Welcome to my home away from home.
