Making Meals Easier

pancakeBabies and young toddlers may take their sweet time when asked to do something, but being patient themselves is not something most of them are good at.

Meal times are no exception.

Most often it’s hard enough to make their food without someone whining underfoot, let alone plate it and get it ready for them to eat.

A couple of years ago I finally figured out how to use the pizza cutter to reduce my time getting food ready. With a few quick swipes of the cutter we’re ready to go and my little one is happily munching away!

One last quick tip – if you’re going to be cutting a “sticky” food, spray the cutter with a bit of oil first.

How funny! I do the same thing and wondered if anyone else had thought of it!

  2. Yes, we love the pizza cutter, too! What a time saver! I found kid-friendly pizza cutters, and the kids love going to town on their sandwiches, waffles, etc.

What a great blog you have :)

It’s new to me. I have a toddler and I cut stuff up all the time. If it is not too gooey I just rip it up with my hands, but for anything else I am going to try the pizza cutter, thanks.

I have seen that idea on numerous "Jon & Kate + 8" episodes! GREAT IDEA! Sat mornings are their pancake days and Jon woudl cut up each child's pancake with a knife & fork. They got so many e-mails telling them to use a pizza cutter that they even addressed it on the Q&A episode telling the audience that they now know & please don't send them e-mails telling them to use a pizza cutter…if you see them using a fork & knife…its a re-run! too funny! :) I LOVE that show!
